From the Congo Basin to the Kathmandu Valley
Geospatial Environment grew out of 20+ years of academic and applied work — including a decade of research with the University of Maryland, NASA and USAID, long-term consulting for the World Bank's GFDRR, and a network of clients and partners across four continents.
That combination is the practice's signature: we know how the satellite data is made, and we know what an operations team actually needs from it. Hazards, exposure, forests, settlements — analysed properly, explained clearly.
And through the UR Field Labs, we're working on the harder problem underneath it all: how the climate and disaster risk community learns, collaborates and builds capacity — creatively, and on equal terms.
The practice is deliberately small and senior. We use state-of-the-art GeoAI to accelerate spatial analysis, literature synthesis and reporting while keeping the judgement, methods and accountability human.
